MZUTHINI RELEASES COACH ‘MAGIYANE’ TO ‘WESLIANS’

MBABANE – It took some pleading for Manzini Wanderers, but after the powers that be at the team also got involved, the ‘Weslians’ persuaded Green Mamba President Isaiah ‘Mzuthini’ Ntshangase to allow coach Gcina ‘Magiyane’ Dlamini to join them.

The ’Weslians’ recently sacked their Zimbabwean coach Charles Manda after four competitive games without a win, two of those being in the MTN Premier League where he drew against Manzini Sundowns and RSSC United respectively. Manda was shown the exit door on Wednesday and his replacement has already been identified as ‘Magiyane’.

Dlamini led Green Mamba last season but was replaced with Thabo ‘Koki’ Vilakati at the team, being relegated to the position of Technical Director (TD) and Development side overseer as Ntshangase insisted on keeping him despite interest from various teams such as RSSC United and Mbabane Highlanders.

However, he could not turn down a plea from the elders and patron of Manzini Wanderers, and Ntshangase confirmed to have been directly approached with such a request. “I’m not a jealous person and if we work together we will improve our football and grow sports in the country. This is why I have no problem in letting the coach (Dlamini) go to another team. He was Technical Director at the team (Green Mamba) and helped with the development team, but anyone who comes to me with an SOS, asking for his services, I let him go. This is why I let him go to Wanderers,” he said.

Ntshangase further mentioned that he also did not want to see a club as big as Manzini Wanderers dwindle and die when he could lend a hand.
However, he said it was now between the ‘Weslians’ and Dlamini to finalise talks and agree on personal terms, otherwise he had borrowed them his asset.

Meanwhile, the coach, who was said to have already agreed terms with his suitors, did not want to comment on the matter until he received a go-ahead from Ntshangase.

Manzini Wanderers Managing Director (MD) Mduduzi ‘Tsotsi’ Mabila could not be drawn for comment because his mobile phones were not available at the time of compiling this report yesterday. On the other hand, Wanderers PRO Mduduzi ‘Mr G’ Ginindza said only the senior management could comment on the matter as per their instruction.
