MBABANE – The Rules and Regulations of the Castle Premier Challenge have been altered, albeit verbally.
This has been done to accommodate the semi-finals which will be played in two legs.

The Management Committee (MC) Chaired by Meshack Maseko of Swaziland Beverages Limited (SBL) has decided to add that for the semi-final games.
the away goal rule will be used to decide the outcome of a match.
Initially, the rules did not clarify what would happen in the case of a draw in any of the semi-final games, especially the first leg, only stating that any game that would end in a draw during the competition would have to be decided by way of extra-time and a penalty shoot-out.

However, Maseko informed that they had since realised this gap and closed it. “We have decided that the away goal rule will take precedence in the semi-final games. There will be no penalty shoot-out in any of the semi-final games unless the away goal rule does not apply in that particular match,” he said.

Meanwhile, this alteration has only been made verbally and is yet to be made in black and white.

However, PLS Chief operations Officer (COO) John Mazibuko, who is also a member of the Castle Premier Challenge MC, said they would do that process today.
The semi-finals have been scheduled for Sunday at Somhlolo National Stadium where Mbabane Swallows will once again take on football powerhouse Royal Leopard, while Young Buffaloes will square-up against Green Mamba in an armed forces battle.
