MBABANE – Team Swaziland has had a successful outing in Zimbabwe where they competed in the Darts Zone VI Championships with one of the players bringing home a silver medal.
The games were played from Thursday to Friday last week in Harare, featuring Namibia, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Lesotho, Malawi and Botswana.

Leader of the delegation and Swaziland National Darts Association (SNDA) Secretary Phumlani ‘Kofi’ Ndwandwe disclosed that Andile Malambe shone in the games to bring back a silver medal for Swaziland.
Moreover, the team proved to be the best at hitting the usually elusive 180 score points.

“We are glad to have come back safe. It was a successful trip for Swaziland darts. There was personal and team glory to celebrate. Andile got a silver medal in the singles games, while the team was announced to have annexed the most 180 scores, which shows that we have some of the best players in the region,” Ndwandwe said.

The team was inclusive of a women national team which managed to get a few wins just like the men’s team. Team Swaziland left for Zimbabwe by road on Tuesday morning and returned home on Sunday.
Ndwandwe thanked the Ministry of Sport, Culture and Youth Affairs for assisting them to make the trip, especially financially as they needed about E45 000 to cater for all the logistics.
