MBABANE – Sierra Leone international Baimba Kamara has signed a one-year deal with giants, Mbabane Highlanders.

The versatile defender who boasts immeasurable experience, having played for his country’s junior and senior national teams had signed a pre-contract with the team, as exclusively revealed by this publication in May this year.

The 22-year-old was unveiled by team General Manager Andrew Mamba, in the presence of Director Bheki ‘Rubber’ Simelane and coach, Rogerio Mariani during a press briefing at Sidwashini yesterday.

Mamba expressed hope that the slim-built centre back would add value to the capital city giants.
“We’re grateful to have a player of Kamara’s calibre,” Mamba said.

The player promised to give his best, saying his biggest goal was to win the league with the black and white ensemble.
“I hope my international experience will come in handy for the team. I’m happy to play for a youthful and organised team like Highlanders,” he said.

Kamara had a short stint with First Division League outfit Mhlambanyatsi Rovers in the past season. He was set to appear for his national team against Sihlangu in the second leg of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Qualifier which his country won 1-0 but had visa problems.
