MBABANE – Young Buffaloes winger Timothy ‘Timo’ Mathonsi left Mbabane Super Spar with a long face after netting a lower amount in yesterday’s trolley dash.

Buffaloes qualified for their fourth straight trolley dash alongside fellow security ensemble, Green Mamba, but Mathonsi’s groceries tally was at E2 286.22. He had collected goods worth E3 009 in his first trolley dash over three weeks ago. However, he improved teammate, Mpendulo ‘Baiano’ Kunene last week’s collection of E1 981.44.

“I’m not happy at all. The unfortunate incident was a major downfall. The trolley dash was not rightly positioned,” he said.
The player fell barely five seconds after the start of the one-minute trolley dash but rose instantly to complete the competition.

Meanwhile, the green and white outfit retained Somerset Mncina, who improved on his previous week’s record of E2 179.40, collecting goods worth E2 211.53 yesterday. “I was a little bit intimidated by Timothy who is a seasoned trolley dash runner. However, I tried my best,” Mncina said.

Meanwhile, Green Mamba won the E2 000 sports equipment voucher again. Team Spokesperson Thami Phakathi encouraged their supporters to keep the fire burning.
Yesterday’s trolley dash was the seventh and the last this year as voting lines will close on Sunday.

Giants Manzini Wanderers were the only other side to have qualified for the trolley dash, participating in the first three competitions.
The winners of the fans as well as Swaziland Posts and Telecommunications Corporation (SPTC) staff promotion also got their prizes after the festivities. One of the winners, Manzini Wanderers’ Lungile Mamba who got a Charity Cup bag, VIP ticket and round neck T-shirt thanked Swazi Telecom for the opportunity.
