MBABANE – National team boxers are set to compete in Saturday’s local tournament at Corner Plaza in Ezulwini.

The New Boys Boxing Club host the tournament open to all boxers in the country set to start at noon. Swaziland Boxing Association (SWABA), Secretary Celani Malaza urged the four boxers who will compete in the Bulawayo, Zimbabwe African Union Sports Region V Under-20 Youth Games to attend without fail.  The event, formerly known as Zone VI Games, will be staged early in December.

“We expect all clubs to send senior and junior boxers to the championship,” he said. “The team to compete in Zimbabwe will also get the much needed practice ahead of lined up international friendly matches.”
Boxers to leave for Bulawayo include Kid Mamba’s pair of Thabiso Dlamini and Mneli Nkambule as well as Lindelani Maseko and Zweli Dlamini from Matsapha.

Meanwhile, eyes will be on the seasoned duo of Thanda Mkhatshwa from Kid Mamba and Sandile Motsa of Zebra Force who will contest in what promises to be another barnburner on Saturday. Malaza hinted that the duo would be in the same bout.
Mkhatshwa would be in revenge mood as Motsa had the last laugh in a previous competition.
