LOBAMBA – Out of contract Manzini Wanderers midfielder Xolani ‘Papi’ Sikhondze is on his way to join Mbabane Highlanders.

Sikhondze, who impressed Highlanders Italian coach Romero Mariani, appeared for the black and white outfit yesterday at Somhlolo National Stadium during a series of friendly games including Midas City and Sibovini FC.
He only played for about 20 minutes. The Italian coach, Mariani, said the player was a cut above the rest together with Mbabane Swallows defender Manqoba Zwane.

“He is a good player but I was seeing him for the first time. He did well and there was not need to give him more time,” he said.
‘Papi’ made his appearance at Highlanders while Manzini Wanderers were also playing friendly games against XI Men In Flight and Ludzeludze Killers at Voctim Sports Ground.

Manzini Wanderers PRO Mduduzi ‘Mr G’ Ginindza said the player was free to join any team he liked because his contract with the maroon and white ensemble expired at the end of the season. “For now there is no team that has come for his clearance,” he said.

Highlanders PRO Sifiso Magagula said nothing had been said to them by the Managing Director Bheki ‘Rubber’ Simelane as he is the one handling the matters of players to be signed. He said the player was appearing in the team for the first time yesterday.
