MBABANE – Jay Zee Bottle Store owner and sponsor of the Jay Zee Easter Pool Tournament has pledged to continue the relationship with the sport and make it bigger next year.

Speaking at the prize presentation, where champions Jay Zee were awarded their prizes along with the other teams that partook in the E9 000 sponsored games over the past weekend, Jacob Fakudze said he was happy with the success of the tournament.

“There were no negative reports associated with the games and they went smooth, something that has encouraged me and given me the zeal to prolong the marriage. I, therefore, commit myself to more years of staging the tournament. I can now confirm that next year we will have the tournament again and the sponsorship will not be less than E10 000,” he said to whistles and shouts of elation from the players and officials present yesterday.

He also gave free refreshments to the teams and commended those that came from distant places such as Pigg’s Peak, while he also encouraged more guest teams from other regions to join next year. Manzini Regional Pool Association Chairman Muntu Dlamini thanked the sponsor for the games which he said helped uplift the sport and players to improve, while he called for unity among the players and teams for the betterment of the sport.
