MBABANE – The Swaziland National Tennis Association (SNTA) has mourned the death of former Central Bank player Emeldah Shiba.

The staunch Mbabane Highlanders supporter who was also an outstanding tennis player for Central Bank team passed on last week and will be laid to rest on Saturday at Mahamba.

SNTA Secretary General Sibusiso Khumalo said they have lost a great player in Shiba, but said the association has tasked Masiza Ntshangase to handle issues around the funeral arrangements.
Ntshangase then announced that the association has mandated Treasurer Nqaba Mkhaliphi to speak on their behalf during this afternoon’s memorial service to be held at Mbabane Methodist Town Church.

“It is not in doubt that we have lost not only a great player, but someone who had valuable experience in the sport. Her presence was always treasured by the association, hence we will have someone to speak on our behalf during the memorial tomorrow (today),”Ntshangase said.

He described the deceased as one of the best female players to emerge from the sport in the past, and that her presence was always good for the association in many ways. Shiba was also a famous Mbabane Highlanders supporter and the capital city giants have also paid tribute to their fallen loyal follower.
