SCARA/KFC STARS TO DINE WITH CHIEFS LEGENDS
MATSAPHA – It is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!
This is the story of the 2024 Scara Thindwa/KFC Soccer Foundation five top performers who have been given a rare chance to have dinner with celebrated DStv Premiership outfit, Kaizer Chiefs legends today. The pupils, who left the country yesterday, courtesy of the foundation, will share tables with Eswatini legendary goalkeeper William ‘Cool Cat’ Shongwe, as well as Amakhosi legendary striker Teenager Dladla. This was revealed by Absalom ‘Scara’ Thindwa during the official send-off for the players and coaches heading to Johannesburg yesterday.

The event, attended by the Ministry of Education and Training Under Secretary and Schools Manager Lungelo Hlengetfwa, the foundation chairman David Matse, and Eswatini Schools Sports Association (ESSA) president Zakhele Dlamini, who was represented by Secretary Luck Dlamini, took place at the Matsapha Link.The former Bulembu Young Aces striker revealed that the pupils were unfortunate as they were supposed to enjoy dinner with former Kaizer Chiefs fan-favourite Doctor ‘16V’ Khumalo and former English Championship side Leeds United defender Lucas ‘Rhoo’ Radebe.
“I had intended that Doctor and Lucas would join us, but the challenge is Kaizer Chiefs is playing away in Polokwane, but Cool Cat will be with us as well as Teenager Dladla, who has been included in the Hall of Fame in South Africa,” Thindwa said.
Visit
He also revealed that the pupils will visit the Kaizer Chiefs Village in Naturena to see the trophies the team has won. “We will then later go watch the Mamelodi Sundowns and Sekhukhune United games as the match that I had intended to take you to will be played on Sunday,” he said. The former national team Sihlangu player disclosed that he wanted the pupils and their coaches to watch the match between Orlando Pirates and Stellenbosch.
