MBABANE – Football administrator Wellington Motsa has been appointed to serve in the Board of the Eswatini Public Procurement Regulatory Agency (ESPPRA).

The announcement was made by the Minister for Finance, Neal Rijkenberg, on Wednesday. Motsa, the Managing Director of Manzini Wanderers, will join Thulile Dube, Nakekelo Ginindza and Sabela Dlamini, who will chair the Board. The ESPPRA Board is tasked with providing oversight and ensuring that procurement policies align with best practices.

“Their expertise and efforts will promote integrity within procurement processes and stimulate growth and innovation in the private sector, driving Eswatini’s economic development,” the ministry said in a statement. Motsa is not the first football administrator to be appointed to a government Board. Ezulwini United’s boss and Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) Chairman, Polycarp Dlamini, was previously appointed into the Eswatini Television Authority (ESTVA) Board. Former Mbabane Highlanders Chief Executive Officer, Celucolo ‘Dino’ Dlamini, also serves as the Eswatini Sport and Recreation Council (ESRC) Board Chairman. The ESPPRA board’s term usually runs for three years.
