SIKHALI’ UNFAZED BY SIHLANGU SNUB
MBABANE – “I’ll keep banging in the goals.”
These were the words of Green Mamba striker Sabelo ‘Sikhali’ Ndzinisa, who dismissed any feelings of disappointment, after his exclusion from the Sihlangu squad for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers. Despite his exclusion from the team of 29 selected players who have reportedly commenced their training at KaLanga Technical Centre, the deadly striker exuded a positive attitude, declaring that he would not let this setback affect his outlook. This squad will prepare for the Group I’s back-to-back AFCON qualifying fixtures against Mozambique, this month. In an interview conducted yesterday with this publication, the ‘Inyoka Eluhlazane’ player communicated his satisfaction with the selection of other players for the Sihlangu team, expressing his happiness on their behalf. Moreover, he also expressed his continued dedication towards his craft, emphasising his desire to work diligently to reacquire recognition, as a national team player.
Privileged
“As someone who has been privileged enough to represent Sihlangu in the past, I certainly yearn to don the national team colours once more. However, I fully comprehend and respect Coach Logarusic’s selection choices, which are undoubtedly aligned with his tactical preferences. As a result, I have resolved to concentrate on giving my absolute best for Green Mamba, scoring goals and continuously striving to improve my game, in the hope that my efforts will earn me a place in the national team, once again,” he said. Meanwhile, the lethal striker, who has terrorised defenders with his goal-scoring abilities, continues to impress in the MTN Premier League, as he surges to the top of the MTN Golden Boot Award race.
