MANZINI – The future of the country’s schools sports is looking brighter than ever, with the stability and security brought by Instacash’s generous sponsorship.

Akin to their tagline, ‘In your hands,’ Instacash Managing Director ( MD) Mandla ‘ Cheeks’ Nxumalo disclosed during a prize presentation event at the Swaziland National Association of Teachers (SNAT) office in Manzini yesterday morning that the fintech company will be providing an extended three-year Eswatini Schools Sports Association (ESSA) sponsorship of E1.4 million. This amount will be spread over the next three years to support the organisation of the Instacash schools soccer tournament.

Remarks

In his remarks, Nxumalo stated that the sponsorship, which was initially set at E375 000 for 2024, will increase by at least 10 per cent each year over the next three years, bringing the total amount of the sponsorship to over E1 400 000. The prize presentation ceremony witnessed the distribution of cash rewards to various schools that had performed exceptionally well in the Instacash schools soccer tournament. Manzini Central High School, the 2024 champions, received a generous E30 000 as first prize. They were followed by Evelyn Baring High School, who claimed E20 000 as runners-up. Elangeni High School and Ndzangu High School, placing third and fourth, respectively, were awarded E10 000 and E5 000 each.

“This  sponsorship is not just a traditional advertising campaign. Instead, it’s a direct investment into our community, a way for Instacash to give back and make a genuine impact on the local sports landscape. By prioritising the needs of beneficiaries, we hope to foster a brighter future for the youth of Eswatini,” he said. Nxumalo also extended his admiration for ESSA, commending their dedication and professional approach to organising the Instacash Schools Soccer Tournament, which has resulted in a high-quality event.

Collaboration

“This collaboration serves as a prime example of how businesses can engage with and empower communities through strategic sponsorships, creating a positive impact for both the organisation and the participants,” Nxumalo disclosed.Meanwhile, Eswatini Sport and Recreation Council (ESRC) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Darius Dlomo voiced his appreciation for the efforts being undertaken by Instacash to advance the sports movement in the country, noting that it was exciting to witness such initiatives being implemented. Dlomo further acknowledged that Instacash’s initiatives were not only consolidating the sports movement within the country, but also nurturing its very roots, which he deemed instrumental in fostering the future success of Eswatini’s athletes on the global stage.

Meanwhile, representing the Ministry of Education and Training, Acting Senior Inspector Thandi Nkambule extended her gratitude to Instacash for their steadfast support of sports within schools, especially in light of other sponsors stepping away following the COVID-19 pandemic. “Sports serve as a valuable tool in ensuring the physical fitness and overall health of learners, and we are immensely grateful to Instacash for their generous support in facilitating these opportunities. Their investment in our youth not only promotes physical activity, but also fosters a holistic approach to education, equipping young people with the skills and experiences necessary to succeed both on and off the field,” she said.Manzini Central and Moneni Pirates player Innocent Pakule expressed his gratitude to Instacash for enabling his dream of playing in the MTN Premier League to become a reality.
