MBABANE – Former Moneni Pirates gaffer Ikabort Masocha is officially Zimbabwean-side Harare City’s head coach.

The coach’s last job in the country was at Ezulwini United, where he was requested to help the ‘Stingers’ avoid the dreaded relegation axe. The side, which bought the status of Tambuti, eventually survived the chop. The former Manzini Wanderers mentor reportedly left the country for his home country Zimbabwe after spending several years in Eswatini. The coach was reported to have been on the wish list of the ‘Sunshine Boys’, as the side based in the capital city of Zimbabwe is fondly known in football circles. Masocha confirmed that he eventually joined the ‘Sunshine Boys’, as he signed on the dotted line, this past Saturday. “I can safely confirm that I signed for Harare City yesterday (Saturday),” Masocha said.

Short-term

He was, however, quick to highlight that the Management of Harare gave him a short-term contract to be reviewed after it had expired.“ I have been given six months  and been mandated to win the league,” he said. Masocha revealed that should he achieve the mandate of clinching the league title, the management would then engage him in the longer term.
