MBABANE – As Togo named their final troops to face Eswatini, Saudi Arabia’s Al Nasr youngster has been selected to face the national team Sihlangu.
Togo coach Paulo Duarte has revealed the list of players who will take part in the next training camp to be based in South Africa from tomorrow. Among the players who made the cut was Kodjo Jean Claude Aziangbe, who will make his maiden appearance in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Group B Qualifiers.

Kodjo is world superstar player Cristiano ‘CR7’ Ronaldo’s teammate in Saudi Arabia. Other than Kodjo, the squad comprise of experienced stars while five players from their local league champions LONATO are in the team. Two players who missed the March camp due to injuries, Fessou Placca and Klousseh Agbozo, have returned to the fold.

The Togo team will face Eswatini next  Sunday at the Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit, South Africa. The match will kick off at 5pm. Before that, Togo will play a friendly match against Lesotho on June 14 in Johannesburg. Eswatini also played Lesotho last week and won 1-0 while losing 2-1 as they played two practice matches at Mavuso Sports Centre on Manzini.

Togo are currently bottom of Group B of the qualifiers with two points from four games. They still have a slim chance of qualifying if they win their remaining matches against Eswatini and Cape Verde, just like Sihlangu needs the two matches to qualify for the first time. The Eswatini Football Association (EFA) has revealed that it will be E50 to watch the game. The E50 is the cost per ticket while travelling fans will part with E370 to return on the same day if they opt for the Sihlangu supporters’ transport.
