WANDERERS MC CONGRATULATES G. MAMBA

MBABANE – Manzini Wanderers Management committee (MC) has congratulated Green Mamba for winning the 2022/23 MTN Premier League title.

The Correctional Services side was crowned champions of this year’s campaign after brushing off defending champions Royal Leopard 2-1 in an intense match played at Nsukuwansuku Stadium on Sunday. This was the Ernest Mavuso-led side’s third league title in their history. The maroon and white hub giants’ MC, through the club’s Public Relations Officer (PRO) Lucky ‘Majayivane’ Dlamini, congratulated Green Mamba for their milestone as well as Rangers and Illovo for being promoted to the premier league. “I have been sent by the management to congratulate Green Mamba for being the champions and the two teams who were promoted from the National First Division,” Dlamini said.

Deserved

He said they deserved the crown after their good run in the past season and they were happy for Inyoka Eluhlazane coach for winning his first league title in his blossoming football career. He also revealed that Wanderers would have a short off-season to avoid a repeat of what befell them in the past season. They finished 10th in a 14-team league. “On another note I would like to thank our supporters for being with the team in our most difficult times and I would like to assure them that this will never happen again as we will start our pre-season earlier this time around,” he said.

He finally thanked Coach Nyanga ‘Crooks’ Hlophe, the players and the team’s legend for the good work in cheating relegation. The relegation axe has been hovering over Wanderers for almost the entire season until they roped in Hlophe, who made an immediate impact by sailing the side to better shores and eventually avoided the chop.
