‘BUFFS’ RECORD BEATS TOP LEAGUES

MBABANE - Young Buffaloes are all about breaking records.

 

The army side aee among the teams in the Southern African Development Community (SADC) to have finished the league without losing a single game. The Mandla ‘Stofu’ Dlamini-led charges played 26 games without suffering defeat and they eventually finished as runners-up in the MTN Premier League. They won 16 times and drawn 10 times. Their record stretches from last season and they are now unbeaten in 42 straight league matches. The last time they suffered a defeat was in February 10 2022 where they lost 3-1 to Royal Leopard in the 2021/22 season. Since then they have been annexing three points or at least a point.

 

In other leagues, even in top leagues like in South Africa, Dstv Premiership champions Mamelodi Sundowns lost two times with one game to go before the curtain falls for the richest-sponsored league in the Southern African Development Community (SADC). Angola side Petro de Luanda have also suffered defeat in their 28 games outings. They have lost three times while Botswana’s Galaxy also suffered two defeats in 27 games. Zambia log leaders, Power Dynamos have also lost two games in 33 outings. Lesotho’s Bantu FC are also not invincible as they have lost four times in 29 games. Meanwhile, the champions of the Eswatini, Green Mamba, lost five times, won 20 games and drew one game.
