LUCA, HAYLEY’S STARS KEEP SHINING

MBABANE – Eswatini swimmer’s Hayley Hoy and Luca Fraser continued to excel in the in the ongoing African Swimming Confederation (CANA) Zone IV Championships in Luanda, Angola.

Fraser, who already has eight medals in Luanda proved dominant in his age group winning two gold medals in the 100m freestyle and the 200m individual medley, while Hayley won her second gold in the 200m butterfly making it three medals for the Olympic Solidarity Scholarship holder Through EOCGA (Eswatini Olympic and Commonwealth Games Association). Eswatini now has 14 medals with swimming done and tomorrow, which is the last day of the Championship will see the resumption of open water events.

Eswatini Swimming Association (ESA) Secretary General (SG) Nozipho Mahlalela said all the swimmers made the country proud by winning many medals and achieving Personal Best (PBs) times. “We’re very proud with all our swimmers with swimming having finished today (yesterday). We hope that we will continue to add a few medals with the open water challenge taking place tomorrow (today),” she said. Team Eswatini currently has 14 medals and 22 PB times in the competition, which will end today. The event features teams from around the region, compromising of boys and girls aged 11 years and older in different categories.
