ZESCO’S LINDO EARNS E5K IN ONE MATCH
MBABANE - On top of his monthly salary, Eswatini International Lindo Mkhonta is expected to rake in more money in match bonuses.
According to Eswatini's very own FIFA-accredited agent Dingane Maduma, who handled the Mkhonta transfer deal to Zambia, in each and every game, Zesco United players are given match bonuses which are added to their monthly salaries. The agent said per match, win bonuses for category A games players were at E8 000 and for scoring a goal, a player is entitled to E1 000.

Mkhonta recently scored in their 3-0 win against Chambishi. The latter team, according to the agent, is regarded as a category C opponent and this means they will get half the amount for win bonuses. This means Mkhonta will take home E4 000 in win bonus and E1 000 extra for the third goal he netted in the 56th minute. Mkhonta earns around E40 000 per month. Mkhonta when reached for comment said he was excited to score. “This is a motivation and it feels good to score. It was my first goal and it really means a lot in my football career. The world is watching now and I have to ensure that I maintain my form,” the former Young Buffaloes full-back said. He was quick to thank his teammates for the support. “It was teamwork, so I would like to believe I didn’t do it on my own. My teammates are supportive and they have made it easy for me to adapt here in Zambia,” he said. Zesco will play against Nchanga Rangers on Saturday. Kick-off time is 3pm. The Zega Mamba side is currently sixth spot with 46 points after 31 games.
