MBABANE – “Blessed is the hand that gives than the one that receives.”

The above Biblical adage holds true for former Mbabane Highlanders player Mkhulu Vilakati from Ndunayithini, who over the weekend got a two-room house courtesy of Mbabane Highlanders and the Bible Society of Eswatini. The dream for Mkhulu Vilakati came true after Highlanders won the 2022 Bible Society Cup and it was decided that part of the prize money should be given back to the community to help the needy.

Revealed

This was disclosed by Inkunzi Emnyama Public Relations Officer (PRO) Kenneth Dlamini, who revealed that the building of the house was one of the initiatives by the Bible Society, which instructed them to find someone to benefit from it. He said as they went around the country, they noticed Vilakati’s dilapidated house. “We then engaged him and lucky for him he said he once played for the team way back in the 1960s and this encouraged us to push hard in the construction of the house,” Dlamini said. He also said they then mobilised the team’s supporters, who were happy to be part of the construction of Vilakati’s house as they brought along their different skills. He revealed that Sigwe Member of Parliament (MP) and Minister of Tinkhudla Administration and Development David ‘Cruiser’ Ngcamphalala was of great help; he thanked him for seeing that the house was constructed to the end. He further revealed that the house was officially handed over to the Vilakati family over the weekend by Managing Director (MD) Chief Ally Kgomongwe.
