LUCKY HAPPY TO REPRESENT COUNTRY

MBABANE – “We will do our best to make the nation proud.”

These were the remarks of Sihlangu defender Lucky Gamedze, who promised the nation that they would do their best while representing the country in the back-to-back TotalEnergies AFCON 2023 Qualifiers fixtures against Cape Verde. The strong Madlenya defender,who got his maiden Sihlangu call-up, said this yesterday afternoon when the national team was about to depart for the Island country in a ceremony attended by Eswatini Football Association (EFA) President Peter ‘Samora’ Simelane and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Frederick Mngomezula at Lobamba Technical Centre.

The spirits were high with the Sihlangu players as they showed signs that they were ready to do the country proud. The rookies Madlenya player said they did enough preparations for the clash against the Portuguese speaking nation. “I want to assure the nation that we will do our outmost best to make it proud in our two games against Cape Verde. We have done enough homework on them and we will return home with positive results,” Gamedze said. Sihlangu has one point to show in their group after two games as they drew against Togo away in the opener.
