WOUNDED RANGERS OUT TO EVADE KILLERS

MBABANE – MTN National First Division (NFD) log leaders Rangers will seek redemption when they welcome Ludzeludze Killers in a tricky week 17 fixture this afternoon.

The last time they crossed swords three months ago, Killers emerged 2-1 winners on December 4, 2022. Both teams come to this clash wounded following unfavourable results. Rangers had Ezulwini United reducing their six-point lead to three after beating them 2-1, while Killers lost 0-2 to Sisonke. Today, the two sides meet in what looks like a do or die battle, especially for log leaders Rangers. The result can have far more reaching consequences, if they slip up.

Anything less than a win for the Mthunzi Ginindza-led charges would mean more pressure for them in neck-to-neck title race with Ezulwini United, who are just three points behind.
Alongside Ezulwini United, Killers are one two teams this season that managed to hand Rangers one of their three defeats. One thing that is evident, however, is that Rangers have a winning mentality and a lot of options, especially with the likes of Sandile Thwala, Siphamandla Mabuza and Sibonelo Mhlanga upfront. Meanwhile, Killers, who will be looking to collecting maximum points to move into the top four, will draw inspiration from Bayeza Kunene, Mlandvo Tsabedze and Ndumiso Ginindza. It is no doubt that this game will be watched with keen interest as the title and promotion race heats up.
