MBABANE – MTN Premier League rookies Madlenya are set to have a compact defence in their defence way too early in the second round.

This will be a result of the return of their fantastic captain Machawe Dlamini, who picked up a knee injury during their debut game in top flight football on October 2. What turned out to be a major upset of the day, as they sank Manzini Wanderers 1-0 on the fateful day was also his football career upset for the first round.

The right-back has been out for the entire first round having only played less than 45 minutes of the 13 first round games. “Machawe is back in training as we speak. He has started light training and he is expected to be available for the coach’s selection in few weeks to come,” Madlenya Public Relations Officer (PRO) Nokwazi Gamedze said. In his absence, Sethu Ngcamphalala took the captain’s arm-band. Notably, Madlenya had reunited with Lucky Gamedze who had been with Nsingizini Hotspurs.

They are currently occupying the sixth spot on the log table, seven points adrift of log leaders Young Buffaloes. They will on Saturday welcome Mbabane Swallows at Mayaluka Stadium. PRO Gamedze said they hoped to wrap up the first round in the same style they started it.
