MUKELWA WINS NOMADS JUNIOR DEVELOPMENT

MBABANE - He was simply the best.

That is 16-year-old Mukelwa Maziya, who won the Nomads Junior Development Golf Tournament. This was on Tuesday at the Mbabane Golf Course. He was the overall winner of the competition after carding a score of 84 gross to beat the over 20 junior golfers who participated in the tournament. He was also the A division winner. Shining on the B division was Alwande Manyathi on seven points while Tengetile Dlamini scored 12 points.

One of the coaches, Meshack Zwane congratulated the winners. “We appreciate and further thank our heroes for braving the rain. We had 21 players and we also want to thank all the golfers who participated,” he said. The tournament is played normally when schools are closed. The competition is sponsored by Nomads Golf Club, which seeks to develop young golfers in Eswatini. The age range is six to 18 years. Coaches who help the young golfers include Zwane, Peter Dlamini, Moses Shongwe and Sabelo Maseko. The tournament was last played in August and it was won by Siphesihle Mhlanga.
