ALLY TO UNVEIL NEW ‘BULL’ COACH

MANZINI – Mbabane Highlanders Managing Director (MD) Chief Ally Kgomongwe will unveil a new coach to work with current mentor Dumsani ‘DU’ Makhanya.

The head coach post was left vacant after the unceremonious departure of South African-born gaffer Solaetse ‘Sly’ Mosala, after the team was booted out of the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation by South Africa’s DStv Premiership side Royal AM. The team was left in the hands of coach Makhanya, who was roped in to help ‘Sly’ in their quest to conquer Africa.

Highly-qualified

Kgomongwe, when addressing the supporters in an extraordinary meeting which was held at CODEC, in Ezulwini, on Sunday, disclosed that he was working tirelessly to get a highly-qualified coach for the team. “I have identified three good coaches and talks are at an advanced stage with one of them and soon we will be unveiling him; so please bear with us. We are trying to bring one of these coaches on board,” Kgomongwe said.
He said that the reason he was looking for a highly qualified mentor, was that he wanted to take the team back to Africa next season. “Don’t panic about this issue; it’s still early in the league. We will take our rightful place in the league. We will win this league, but all I ask from you is the support and unity,” he said. He also promised the supporters that in January during the registration window, he would bring a defender and a lethal young striker to beef up the squad.

Tourists

“I’m not entirely happy if international players become tourists here, that is why I am working on bringing good players that would add value,” he said. He further urged the managing committee (MC) to work on assembling a marketing committee that would market the brand of Highlanders, as new replicas were on the pipeline. He finally said during the Mbabane derby, Inkunzi Emnyama would be wearing a new kit, as they had been using the current one for a long time. The mother of all derbies for Eswatini football is the game between Mbabane Highlanders and Mbabane Swallows, which is scheduled for next weekend at Mavuso Sports Centre.
