MBABANE – Moneni Pirates have been granted a temporary permit to host their MTN Premier League opener at the Somhlolo National Stadium this coming Saturday.

The ‘Buccaneers’ of Moneni were initially due to host Tambuti at Prince of Wales Sports Ground in Mbabane but reports suggested that the latter venue still needed much preparation ahead of the game. An amended fixture released by the Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Kenneth Makhanya, yesterday showed that the game will now be played at the country’s ‘Mecca’ at 3pm.

Initially, Somhlolo was out of bounds. Eswatini prepares to host the Council of Southern Africa Football Association (COSAFA) Youth Championships from October 6 this year and the games will be played at Somhlolo and Mavuso Sports Centre. Also to host at Somhlolo this weekend are Mbabane Highlanders. They will no longer play in Nhlangano on Saturday but will play at Somhlolo the following day against Tambankulu Callies at 3pm. There were other fixtures that were tweaked. Green Mamba will now host rookies Seven Dreams at Killarney Sports Ground in Pigg’s Peak instead of Mayaluka Stadium in Big Bend. The game will be played on Saturday at 3pm. Meanwhile, the pick-of-the-week, which is the match-up between Mbabane Swallows and Young Buffaloes, will still be played at King Sobhuza II Memorial Stadium in Nhlangano on Sunday. Action gets underway at 3pm.
