‘BIG 3’ RACE TO E100K HEATS UP

MBABANE – Will they get it?

The country’s ‘Big three’ in Manzini Wanderers, Mbabane Highlanders and Swallows are left with only three days to fight for big cash incentives in the MoMo Cup voting. These three big guns currently seeded in semifinals are guaranteed of E100 000 participation fee once they are able to amass 20 000 votes. The security forces teams also have a target to reach of 20 000 votes. Leading the race to the E100 000 ‘carrot’ yesterday were Manzini Wanderers who were at the summit of the voting charts with 6 753. Highlanders, who were just second, were almost 17 000 votes away from earning the participation fee, while it was still a mountain to climb for Swallows. The Birds were at 1 857 votes and in position eight in the overall voting. The uniformed teams of Green Mamba, Royal Leopard and Young Buffaloes had the latter leading them. Buffaloes had 1 052 votes, a great improvement from Tuesday’s 68 votes when they were ranked 25. They were in the 12th position yesterday.  

Guaranteed

Meanwhile, four Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) teams were already guaranteed E10 000 in voting incentives. These teams were  Seven Dreams, Denver Sundowns, Sea Birds  and Nsingizini Hotspurs who have votes above the 2 000 target. However, four National First Division (NFD) teams had also reached their 1 000 votes target. These were Ubombo Flyers, Malanti Chiefs, Sisonkhe as well as Hlatikhulu Tycoons. They were also guaranteed of the E10 000 incentives. The overall voting statistics had summed up to 39 159, which reflected a deficit of about 60 000 votes to minimum votes target set by MTN Fintech Eswatini and Premier League of Eswatini (PLE).
