SEEDING GOOD FOR ‘BIG 3’ – FANS

MBABANE – Isukile, the inaugural Momo Cup 2022 is here and fans love it already.

It was a soothing factor for the fans to hear that the country’s ‘Big Three’ teams being the much-fancied Mbabane Highlanders, Mbabane Swallows and Manzini Wanderers are already in the semifinals of this first-ever tournament that comes in the format almost similar to that of the Eswatini Telecom Charity Cup, which will not be played this year, the last tournament being in 2019.

Teams used to play in the playoffs for one day and produce a winner that would then join the ‘Big Three’ teams in the main tournament, also taking one day with two semifinals played in the morning and final later in the afternoon. Voting also used to be one way to qualify for the Charity Cup until the Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) was forced to change the format to avoid elimination of the big three teams.
