MBABANE – Mbabane Highlanders left-footed midfielder Mlamuli ‘Mlaba’ Nkambule says his future with the side will be decided by the team’s management.

The player’s contract expires at the end of this month. The former Denver Sundowns captain was responding to questions about his link with Manzini Wanderers in the upcoming 2022/23 season as his contract is drawing to an end with the 2021/22 MTN Premier League runners-up. “I’m still a Mbabane Highlanders player as I have a running contract with them which is due to expire at the end of this month. For now I can’t comment on my future as the team will decide my future once my contract has expired,” Nkambule said.

The former Sihlangu midfielder, with an educated talented left foot, said once they had met with the team’s management, he would be able to reveal his future plans in his football career.
“I will then take it from there, for now I can’t comment any further,” he said. He also revealed that a number of elite league sides had contacted him over his signature but he referred them to his employers. Nkambule is not the only player whose contract is coming to an end, as the likes of left back Sanele Mkhweli, Sabelo ‘Sikhali’ Ndzinisa and South African import Tshepo Chain are also becoming free agents. Meanwhile, the black and white Mbabane giants’ Public Relations Officer (PRO), Mandla Madonsela, said they would give an update on the players’ movement this week.
