And the best part of all is that entrance to the venues will be absolutely free! The last edition of the regional showpiece tournament in 2021 was held behind closed doors, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, while there was no edition at all in 2020, following the lockdown regulations in place at the time,” reads a statement from COSAFA. This is the first opportunity since the hugely successful 2019 competition in Durban, that fans will be able to watch COSAFA Cup games live. There will be three venues used during the competition -  the King Zwelithini Stadium in Umlazi, the Princess Magogo Stadium in KwaMashu and the iconic Moses Mabhida Stadium that was used extensively during the 2010 FIFA World Cup, where the finals will take place. Fans will be able to collect tickets on a first come, first served basis at the match venues one day prior to the games being played.

requirements

On match day, tickets can be collected from the sports centres at the three venues. Fans are still celebrating a relaxation of COVID-19 restrictions by the South African government. There are no longer any vaccination or PCR test requirements to enter venues for fans and the media alike. The National Supporters Committee (NSC) Chairman Madlakadlaka said they would leave the country on July 8 and be back the following day. He said they would spend one night in Durban, after the match. “We are happy that COSAFA presented us with such good news and this encourages us to go even in more numbers. I’m hopeful that football supporters will take this opportunity and go and support our team,” he said. He said those interested in paying can contact Philile Simelane on 7652 1913 or 7952 1913.
