MBABANE – With a day to go, over 350 runners have registered for the KwaMagogo Legacy Race.

This was confirmed by one of the race organisers, Gideon ‘Topcat’ Mthembu yesterday. The KwaMagogo Legacy 21km/ 10km Walk/ Run will be held tomorrow. It will start at Number 43, Trelawney Park and finish at Pendray Park, Manzini. The race will start at 6:30am. “I have just checked the numbers; we have passed 300 so far. To be precise 355 have registered so far and runners are increasing every day. Our target is 1 000,” said Mthembu.

He further discouraged runners on registering on the last day. “As much as we are targeting 1 000 runners, we will be fine even if we have over 500 runners. Registration is open until 30 minutes before the race. Pre-race registration will be from 5am to 6am,” he said. He also highlighted that they were getting entries from corporate groups and were hoping they would reach their target before race day.

Cost

Asked how much it would cost to register before the race, he said; “It would be a bit expensive to register before the race because we are promoting it. Runners will have to part with E250 to get a slot either in the 21km or 10km,” he said. Registration before race is E150 for the 10km and E200 for the main race.
