MBABANE – It’s first-come, first-served for vaccinated fans in the MTN Premier League Mbabane big derby billed for Sunday at Mavuso Sports Centre.

Traditional rivals, Mbabane Highlanders, formed in 1952, will cross swords with Mbabane Swallows, who were formed in 1948, in a must-see league clash set to kick off at 3pm. Tickets will be sold at E50 each from today at 2pm. Manzini Wanderers will take on Green Mamba in an earlier match at 12:30pm. Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) Chief Operations officer (COO) Pat Vilakati confirmed yesterday. “We have to respect the regulations that were given to us by government when they allowed fans back to the stadiums. The tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis. Once the 2 000 tickets are sold out, there won’t be others to be printed,” he said.

Vilakati said they would be strict and no one without a ticket on unvaccinated would be allowed to the venue. He said the tickets would be available almost across the country. Vilakati then pleaded with fans to desist from violence and to accept results as they are. “The fans are not doing any good for the teams when they engage in violence as the teams are made to pay hefty fines. In that way the fans are draining the teams while they should be assisting financially. We expect people to be at their best behaviour,” he said.
