MBABANE – Tinyosi Chairman Polycarp Dlamini is now a member of the Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) Executive Committee.

Dlamini, who for a long time served as Board of Governors representative for the now-defunct Mbabane City, takes over the position left vacant by Mashumi Shongwe. Shongwe was elected as one of the three vice to Eswatini Football Association (EVA) president, Peter ‘Samora’ Simelane. PLE Chief Operations Officer (COO) Pat Vilakati confirmed Dlamini’s appointment in a statement yesterday. The Mark Carmichael-led executive committee was elected on September 20 during the PLE Annual General Meeting (AGM).

“The PLE is pleased to inform you that Mr. Polycarp Dlamini has been co-opted to join the PLE executive committee as a member. He is replacing Mr Mashumi Shongwe who is now Vice President at EFA,” he said. Dlamini thanked those who believed in him that he can contribute positively to the PLE organisation and in football in the country. He said he was optimistic that his contribution would assist in improving football in the country. “I appreciate the appointment and I hope that I will contribute positively,” he said.
