LEOPARD ALL OUT TO CEMENT CAF CHAMPS SPOT

MBABANE – A win for Royal Leopard today in the MTN Premier League will come as a sigh of relief for the Premier League of Eswatini (PLE).

The win will guarantee the police ensemble the CAF Champions League spot and the PLE can submit their name to the Eswatini Football Association (EFA) for the CAF inter-club tournament. The runner up in the league will play in the CAF Confederation Cup as the EswatiniBank Cup that enables a team to qualify was not played this season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Leopard will have to pray that Young Buffaloes play a draw or lose to Tambankulu Callies today at Tambankulu Stadium, Leopard is leading Young Buffaloes with six points with only three games remaining including the fixtures for today.

EFA had until tomorrow to submit the representative for the inter-club tournament. Meanwhile, the PLE released an amended week 28 of the MTN Premier League fixtures. The biggest match will be between Royal leopard and Malanti Chiefs, who are fighting to survive relegation. The game will be played at Prince of Wales Sports Ground, kickoff is 2:15pm. It will be a double header and Milling Hot Spurs and Pigg’s Peak Black Swallows will face each other earlier at 12pm. Manzini Wanderers and Mbabane Highlanders will both visit KaLanga Technical Centre, where they will face Moneni Pirates and Denver Sundowns respectively.
