MBABANE – In what could be a shocking move, striker Sabelo ‘Sikhali’ Ndzinisa is set for a return to his former team, Mbabane Swallows.

The Mbabane Highlanders forward has played for one season with the black and white side having signed for two seasons. Sources at Swallows have asserted that the former Mbombela United striker may be heading back into the ‘Birds’ nest at the end of the season. Ndzinisa has been a pillar of strength for Highlanders as he has scored 16 goals so far in the MTN Premier League right behind top goalscorer Phiwa Dlamini, who has 19 goals. A close source to Swallows alleged the player had already been approached. “Come next season, Sikhali will be playing for us. We are waiting for the season to be over so that we can finish the deal with the player,” claimed the highly-placed source at Swallows. This new report coincides with Swallows’ Captain, Tony ‘TT’ Tsabedze’s brief comment which he made last Friday during the Player of the Month Award at MTN Headquarters where he claimed they will be playing alongside each other next season at Swallows.

“Sikhali, come join me for a photo because next season we will be playing together at Swallows,” he said. When asked about this, Tsabedze said he was joking. ‘TT’ was the winner of the Player of the Month for July while ‘Sikhali’ was the Player of the Month for June. Mbabane Swallows Communications and Marketing Manager Mancoba Mabuza did not deny or confirm the link. “Quite frankly, Mbabane Swallows has one of the best and professional recruitment policies in the country. For instance, after concluding this season the Technical Bench, led by Coach Christopher Ennin, will submit a detailed report of the past season,” Mabuza said.

“He will submit it with a comprehensive assessment and recommendations for consideration by management and ultimately the club president. On the basis of this report, decisions are taken for the coming season,” he said. Mabuza said it would be unprofessional and inappropriate for him to make a comment bordering on contents of a report that has not been done and on issues that are yet to be decided by management. Meanwhile, Mbabane Swallows Coach Christopher Ennin said that ‘Sikhali’ was every team’s dream player. “It is no hidden secret that every coach in the league would love to have ‘Sikhali’ in their camp,” he briefly said. Sikhali said he could only have a proper comment at the end of the season. Highlanders reported that they would have to start contract negotiations with about 10 of their players whose contracts are running out end of the season.

“No one at Swallows has approached me as yet. Let’s wait for the season to finish. I cannot comment on that now,” he said. Efforts to get comments from Mbabane Highlanders Director Ally Kgomongwe proved futile as he did not respond to a message that was sent to him yesterday. Sikhali joined Mbabane Highlanders at the start of the current season. Before joining Highlanders, Sikhali was found guilty of signing two contracts with Mbombela United and TS Sporting. He was suspended from playing in South Africa and then signed with the black and white outfit. If he rejoins Swallows, he will re-unite with some of the players he played along at Mbombela United in the 2019/20 season. These are Felix Badenhorst, Njabulo ‘D4D’ Ndlovu, Banele ‘Pupu’ Sikhondze and Sandile ‘Nkomishi’ Ginindza.  Ndzinisa left Swallows for Mbombela United on July 2019.
