MBABANE – It’s more woes for Mbabane Swallows.

After losing further ground in the league title chase, following Sunday’s 0-2 loss to Royal Leopard, Swallows will now face the wrath of the Eswatini Football Association (EFA) Disciplinary Committee (DC), for some indiscretions that occurred in the aftermath of the crunching defeat at KaLanga Technical Centre. The ‘Birds’ may face a fine of not less than E90 000 for allegedly threatening match officials through uttering abusive or derogatory words and failure to control officials and marshals after the 2-0 defeat on Sunday in the highly contested match. The match officials were escorted by police officers after the game to the dressing rooms with Swallows marshals and officials close by, hurling unprintable expletives.

Leopard scored their goals through the duo of Zweli ‘Mlilo’ Nxumalo and Junior Magagula, who netted from spot-kicks in the second half of the match.

matches

Swallows have five remaining matches. They will face Moneni Pirates tomorrow, then take on Tambankulu Callies, Tinyosi, Manzini Sea Birds and Manzini Wanderers in what will be their last game of the season. Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) has a huge number of cases as the DC ceased to operate since the country was under a curfew while cases heard, usually start at 5:30pm. Meanwhile, Mbabane Swallows also had a large number of officials during the match as compared to those of Royal Leopard. The stand they occupied was full, such that it was impossible to practise social distancing while there were new officials on Royal Leopard’s stand.
