MBABANE – Over 30 Mbabane Highlanders fans went to the Mbabane Police Station yesterday where they sought an order stopping a former director from interfering with the club’s day-to-day activities.

The director is known to the publication, but he cannot be named for now as the serious allegations against him have not been proven. The supporters, mostly from the Matsapha branch, arrived at the police station aboard two Toyota Quantum kombis. They wanted the police to assist in setting up a meeting with the former director where there would be consensus that he stop  interfering with the duties of current Chairman, South African-born Chief Ally Kgomongwe.

The requested meeting was not successful as the former director did not show up and another meeting is being arranged for next week. The fans alleged that the former director was all out to let down the club and was behind pushing Kgomongwe out. The fans alleged that the former director was also communicating with some of the players and he was a bad influence to them. The former director was fingered in having played a pivotal role when a former director of the club, Bheki ‘Rubber’ Simelane, was pushed out of the club’s after a section of the club supporters attacked him at Somhlolo National Stadium on October 15, 2016.
