‘LET’S BUILD HEALTHY ESWATINI THROUGH SPORTS’

“Follow your passion – not your parents’, not your teachers’ – YOURS!”

Robert Ballard made this beautiful observation many eons ago but it seems to resonate more with Mbusi Motsa down south in the little beautiful Kingdom of Eswatini. An offspring of an astute businessman, Moses Motsa, a former club owner of the once mighty Eleven Men In Flight who shook Eswatini football from its very foundation in the early 1990s and went on to climb the administration ladder in serving diligently in both Eswatini Football Association (EFA) and Premier League of Eswatini (PLE), Mbusi Motsa did not follow his father’s football steps. He chose cycling or rather cycling chose him. From riding a bicycle to Siteki Nazarene as a youngster to heading a Cycling Club, Newcom Wheels, it has been a fulfilling journey of hard work, perseverance and determination second to none.

All these traits he learnt from his father (Moses Motsa) that on this God’s green earth, nothing comes on a silver platter even if many would think you were born with a silver spoon in your mouth. Far from it. His father instilled a work ethic that, (his words, not mine), “you rest when you die.’’ From his pearl of wisdom he sipped from his father’s oasis, it is the passion for everything you do that is the driving force. Mbusi believes this is what will one-day make Newcom Wheels Cycling Club the best in the Kingdom of Eswatini. Ladies and gentlemen, today we present to you a man who seems to thrive on the immortal words of Sabrina Byran, who rightfully observed that; “You can do anything as long as you have the passion, the drive, the focus, and the support.”
