JABU SHINES IN WOMEN SHOOTING

MATSAPHA – She hardly missed the target.

That is shottist Jabu Vilane, who was crowned champion of the Women Shooting tournament held on Saturday at Nokwane Shooting Range, Matsapha. She defeated 24 other ladies, who turned up for the tournament organised by the Eswatini Shooting Association (ESA). She won with 238 points while Nokwazi Thring was second on 230 points with Gugu Gwebu finishing third with 228 points. Vilane is used to the podium finish as she was also the winner during the Letshego tournament played last year in December.

The 36-year-old Royal Eswatini Police Service (REPS) shooting team player was awarded with her trophy and gold medal by the Minister of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs Harries ‘Madze’ Bulunga. Other guests include Eswatini Sports and Recreation Council (ESRC) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Darius Dlomo, Development Officer Zama Tsabedze, Eswatini Olympic and Commonwealth Games Association (EOCGA) Vice President Maxwell Jele and Lieutenant General Tsembeni Magongo among others. Vilane said she was happy with her performance as she has been consistent in winning.“It was a good day for me and I’m happy that I was the champion. This all goes to my hard work and commitment,” she said.ESA President Sipho Ntshalintshali said they were happy with the attendance and he congratulated the winners.
