SHEBA’S BREAST CHALLENGE IS ON

MBABANE – The Sheba’s Breast challenge is on.

Following the announcement made by the Acting Prime Minister, Themba Masuku on Thursday, pertaining to the relaxation of the partial lockdown, members of the public are invited to join the Sheba’s Breast hike scheduled for Saturday, March 27, 2020. Kickoff time is 8am starting from Mantenga Lifestyle Centre, following the registration of participants, which starts at 7am. Participation fee is E120 for adults and E80 for children aged below 18. Sheba’s Breasts are well known mountains that overlook the Ezulwini Valley and both have well marked trails allowing visitors to hike up for some amazing views. Sheba’s Breasts are actually two peaks on the side of Ezulwini Valley that are visible from afar. 

Formations

The rock formations are named after the legendary beauty and mysterious Queen of Sheba from Ethiopia, who supposedly seduced King Solomon. Legend tells that Sheba’s Breasts are the site of King Solomon’s mines. This is a health and wellness event aimed at assisting people to improve their health through a fun but highly beneficial mountain hike, considering that most people had missed out on their training due to the partial lockdown. One of the event organisers in fitness coach and nutritionist Sandra Weatherson of the Burn Health and Fitness Gym advised people to jump to the challenge and develop holistically healthy habits in their daily lives. “Using the campaign hashtag #IwillMarch, we strive to awaken the excitement of as many people as possible in order to create a sensation of a national togetherness. “The more people say yes I commit to be healthy, the more sensational the experience will be,” said Weatherson.

She elaborated that in times of COVID-19 and no less before, human health is the most valuable asset. She further said that the number one killer in the world was cardiovascular disease and this could be combatted by the sum of individual efforts to take responsibility for their own health and that of their families. “We hope to spend just a few minutes sharing simple tips on mental and emotional health as well as good nutrition and fitness. We will provide people with a digital reminder of tips that they can immediately begin to implement,” said Weatherson.

Participants were urged to provide their own supplies such as water bottles, hats, snacks and durable hiking shoes. Despite the relaxation of the lockdown, all attendants will be expected to observe the COVID-19 rules and regulations to avoid the spread of the virus.
