MBABANE – Going back to the basics.

This is the clear message by new Moneni Pirates director, Nqobizitha Mlilo who says, as a matter of principle, they will only develop and export talent to bigger leagues. Mlilo, who also made a courtesy visit to Eswatini Football Association (EFA) president, Adam ‘Bomber’ Mthethwa, at Sigwaca House yesterday, said as part of the long-term vision for the Moneni Buccaneers they wanted to turn the club into a breeding ground for talent.

nurture

“We will have a strong Under-17 and Under-20 squad, where we will take raw talent, nurture it and then export it to bigger leagues around the world. We will be the conveyor belt for Eswatini football,” Mlilo said. Mlilo said his approach to turning the fortunes around for the club, formed on September 16, 1967 in the densely populated Moneni Township, is four-pronged.

structure

“During my long week visit in Eswatini, I have been able to put in place a structure that involves the supporters who will have a stake in the team, then the Marketing strategy which is the business side, then of course the technical side. Then lastly, we have the financial aspect and we managed to meet our bankers today,” he added. He said the process of registering the team as a company and putting in place the first-of-its-kind all-female board is near completion.
