MBABANE – Capital City giants Mbabane Highlanders are not done with their signings yet.

This is after two South Africa players were spotted on Saturday at the team’s away game against Tambankulu Callies. The game, which was played at Mhlume Stadium, saw Highlanders coming from behind to beat Callies 2-1. The two South Africans namely; Siphamandla Sangweni and Tshepo Matete are former Baroka F.C. They both played for ‘Bakgakga’ as Baroka are affectionately known in 2017. According to statistics from transfermarkt.com, Sangweni last played for Orlando Pirates in 2017 in July, while Matete’s last team was University of Pretoria.

Assessing

According to a source close to the matter, Highlanders are assessing them and they are likely to be signed especially Tshepo Matete. Mbabane Highlanders Director Chief Ally Kgomongwe confirmed that they were in talks with the players. “As you can see them, they came here because they love this team. Like I highlighted in my previous statement, we can sign any player we want as long as they are quality. “They are both quality players and they need no introduction as they have experienced as they have played for top South Africa teams. They are being assessed and we will announce when we have signed them,” said Kgomongwe. It is uncertain which players would be released at the ‘Bull’ camp since they have a reached the maximum number of five foreigners per team. The foreign players are Siphamandla Mlilo, Mandisa Gadla, Johnson Mensah, Thamsanqa Sangweni and Kenneth Moloto.
