JABU VILANE ON TARGET IN LETSHEGO TOURNEY

MATSAPHA – She does not miss the target.  

That is Jabu Vilane who dominated the Letshego E15 000 sponsored Shooting tournament yesterday at Nokwane Shooting Range, Matsapha. 

She was the winner in the ladies individual category finishing on 234 points to take home E400. She also inspired her team, the Royal Eswatini Police Service (REPS) A team to victory under the state category.

Vilane said this was her fifth year in the sport which she said has been a great experience. 

“I’m happy with my performance and seeing my team win. I always work hard at training and that is why I am winning,” she said.

Vilane beat the over 10 ladies who competed in the tournament in the individuals category. She was closely followed by Philile Ndlovu on 233 points taking home E300 while Nolwazi Thring was third on 227 points and got E200.

The REPS team comprised of Bongani Mavimbela and Sibusiso Magagula along with Jabu. The trio took home the first prize money of E2 500 and gold medals. Coming second was the Umbutfo Eswatini Defence Force (UEDF) B team who finished with 705 points and were awarded with silver medals and E1 500 second prize money. 

The army side was made up of Mlondi Dlamini, Mbongiseni Dlamini and Samanisi Ngwenya. Finishing third was REPS B team comprising of Nhlanhla Sithole, Phinda Mlambo and Dumisa Bhembe.

Present during the tournament were the Eswatini Sport and Recreation Council (ESRC) Business and development Manager Zama Tsabedze, Media Officer Dumisani Ntiwane, Letshego Human Capital and Financial Accountant Sakhile Simelane, Eswatini Shooting President Sipho Ntshalintshali and Vice-President Elvis Shabangu among others.
