E100 000 ELECTRIC CURRENT GOLF TOURNEY
MBABANE – Moving from the podium to sponsoring a golf tournament.
Golfer Victor Mavundla, who was crowned champion of the Mashayinkonjane Golf Tournament on Saturday, has launched a E100 000 Electric Current Golf Tournament that will kickoff on Saturday. Mavundla is the director of the electric company located near the Manzini Police Station. He said the drive behind the sponsorship was to show support to fellow golfers and give back to the community behind his company’s success. He also mentioned that his unmatched 40 points victory in the previous week’s tournament also motivated the sponsorship.
Lucrative
The tournament will be played at Manzini Golf Course every last week of the month, followed by a prize presentation to be staged at Manzini Club. Lucrative electric appliances and gadgets will be tabled as prizes for winners in different categories. The champion stands to brighten his home with brand new chandeliers valued up to E6 000. “I was thrilled to win last week and I am happy to give the chance to other golfers. I love golf and I commend the good spirit existing amongst the golfers of Manzini Club. As a businessman, I believe that golfers are potential clients,” said Mavundla.
Trusting
Manzini Club Captain John Mngomezulu has invited golfers from across the country to register for the tournament. He thanked the sponsor for trusting golfers to represent his company brand and assured that the tournament would play a critical role in promoting the business. “We are very excited and honoured. We understand the strain imposed by COVID-19 on businesses and we appreciate Victor Mavundla for sponsoring this tournament. It means a lot to us and we promise to represent and support his business,” said Mngomezulu. He further disclosed that golfers would be presented with branded t-shirts upon registration. Apart from the prizes, golfers will be treated to scrumptious refreshments at half-way-house after the tournament.
