MBABANE – He feels they were cheated by biased refereeing.

Sihlangu captain Lindo Mkhonta has complained bitterly that the refereeing in their 0-2 defeat to Congo Brazzaville, during their away AFCON first leg qualifier, was against them. He accused the match officials of awarding the hosts dubious fouls.

“We were playing against Congo and the referees, it was tough. I am positive here at home we will use the home ground advantage. I am confident that we will win at home,” he said.

return

The Dominic Kunene-led Sihlangu will host Congo Brazzaville in the return leg at the Mavuso Sports Centre on Monday.

“We played very well only to lose focus in the last minutes of the game. We conceded those two goals after losing concentration. I think the scoreline was not a true reflection of the game as we matched them pound for pound,” said Mkhonta.

disappointing

Meanwhile, Kunene credited his troops for giving their best despite the disappointing end result.

“They tried their best and at the end, we lost the game due to our mistakes,” he said briefly.
