MBABANE – Another week, another big game!

This is the red hot MRPA/Dixie’s Pool International Pool League, the third edition of the tournament. MRPA denotes Manzini Regional Pool Association.

From last Saturday afternoon’s top-of-the-table clash and derby game between Correctional Services and Royal Eswatini Police Service (REPS) in Matsapha, the next big tie will be between hosts, Figareido and former league champions and runners-up last season, Way Inn.

Way Inn have had some tough matches in the previous two weekends, first against leaders Correctional Services who they beat 13-11, coming down from a loss to France and then managed to thrash Bhunya 13-4 last weekend. The host side, Figareido, have also been in good form and deserve the second spot they occupy, just four points short of Correctional at the summit.

Figareido know they cannot afford to lose the game as REPS, who are third, also have 22 points and a game in hand but they are coming up against a better side than them over the years – but beatable as proven already this season. Playing in home turf, Figareido will want to take advantage and stun the star-studded Way Inn which boasts former national team stars in Jairus Mhlanga, Nathi Hleta and Zweli ‘Siziba’ Dlamini.

“It’s a tough one but I’m prepared to walk over them, although it won’t be easy. We’re determined to win this one. We will be all out because once we win this one, the rest of the games will just see them fall against us,” Figareido’s Thulani Dlamini said ahead of the fixture billed for Matsapha on Sunday.

This is one of three matches set for the day at 1pm.

There will be four games on Saturday, all starting at 2pm and these include struggling defending champions Manzini Pool Club against league debutants, Mahlanya.
