MBABANE – Mabuyekhaya Pharmaceuticals presented E35 000 worth of sponsorship to the Eswatini Women Football Association (EWFA).

The sponsorship was presented by the Managing Director (MD), Jabulani Mamba, to EWFA Chairman Sonnboy Mabuza yesterday during the Annual General Meeting (AGM) at Sigwaca House. The sponsorship is in the form of toiletries including sanitary pads, sanitisers, toothpaste and deodorants among others.

The toiletries would be presented to the 12 teams being Manzini Wanderers, Young Buffaloes, Elangeni, Royal Leopard, Mbabane Swallows, Green Mamba, As Interladies, Southern Divas, Kappa Ladies, Shiselweni Roses, Madelezini Happy Girls (Callies Happy Girls) and Illovo.

Mamba said they were friends of football as they were in the industry of supplying sports medicine and other pharmaceuticals.

“Each team will receive a pack that will be distributed to the players and we are confident that this will motivate them to continue playing women football. As a company we encourage healthy living through sport we hope our contribution will help improve the standard of the game,” he said.

EWFA Chairman Sonnyboy Mabuza said they were happy to receive such a kind gesture and more sponsors were needed to improve the standard.

Other partners who came to the party yesterday during the Annual General Meeting (AGM) included Lihle LeMaswati formerly Prince Lindani Foundation, OK Foods and SwaziMed.

During the AGM, the Secretary, Aaron Mavimbela, said the committee was still engaged with at least three potential companies to have them on board and sponsor women’s football.

“Had the COVID-19 not struck, I’m optimistic we could have tied the knot with at least one of them, as things stand, the search for the sponsors continues,” he said.
