MBABANE – Eswatini national boxing team coach Fanana ‘Tyson’ Dlamini is set to make it to the big stage of boxing in South Africa.

Dlamini, who is the current coach for Matsapha Boxing Club, is set to lead South African hip-hop sensational Cassper Nyovest when he finally faces AKA in their currently postponed boxing bout due to COVID-19 outbreak. Cassper took to twitter to express his disappointment after former boxing promoter and boxing enthusiast Andile Sidinile said Boxing South Africa must forget about boxing matches happening this year.

Dlamini said he met with Cassper at OR Tambo International Airport, South Africa upon their return from Senegal in February where he made the proposal to be at his corner and he was given the permission. Dlamini said he believed that the agreement with Cassper to be his coach during the bout still stood. “I’m his big fan and when I heard about the bout I was interested. I met with him in Johannesburg with two boxers Thabiso Dlamini and Zweli Dlamini. He gave us a good reception and we chatted about a lot of things, including boxing as it is a sport that he loves,” Dlamini said. According to timeslive.co.za the match was billed for September.
