MBABANE – A kind gesture indeed. A group of local Manchester United supporters managed to raise funds that assisted families of the elderly and single parents in Mahwalala and Nkwalini areas on the outskirts of Mbabane.

The donation of E4 000 was announced in our sister publication, Eswatini News, some days ago. It was presented by the ‘Red Devils’ followers residing in the country.
The group is led by renowned sports fanatic Benedict Bennet and is currently in the process of formally establishing a recognised local supporters club for the English soccer giants.

Through the E4 000 donation, the affected families were able to purchase food hampers for 22 families for the elderly and single parents in two areas.
The beneficiaries have formally forwarded their words of appreciation to the Manchester United supporters for the quality of the hampers they received.

This publication is in possession of the letter of appreciation directed to Bennet and other Manchester United supporters.
“The beneficiaries expressed deep gratitude at the quality of hampers they received, so did the community representatives. With that, there is still so much to be done,” the letter reads in part.

Bennet confirmed that the families in question had since received food hampers as to tune of the E4000.
“The objective of this whole initiative was to assist families in need in our communities and we are happy that this project was a success at the end,” he said.
The staunch ‘Red Devils’ follower further encouraged locally-based supporters of the English side to come forward and register to be part of the supporters club.

He said those who are interested can contact him at 7668 8332 for those on WhatsApp on 7934 2867.
