MBABANE – New Mbabane Swallows signee Leon Manyisa will fly high with the ‘beautiful Birds’ and don the famed jersey number 11.

The jersey number 11 was made famous by twinkle-toed former Swallows crafty midfielder, Banele ‘Pupu’ Sikhondze, who now plies his trade with South Africa’s National First Division side, Mbombela United.

The team officially unveiled the player at a press conference yesterday at the capital giants’ new offices at the Mbabane, Industrial Sites.
This is after they completed his signing on Monday at Manyisa’s School, Elangeni High, to finalise the deal with the player.

The red and white glamour outfit reportedly completed the deal worth E70 000, with E40 000 for the loan fee while E30 000 is a signing on fee. The player is expected to net E7 500 monthly after putting pen to paper to agree the terms.
During the official unveiling of the former Amernia’s FC Van player, there was a photo-shoot for the player as he was welcomed to the team by senior officials.

That is when it transpired that the youngster will be wearing the much adored jersey 11. This also confirmed the news of South Africa’s Siphamandla Dhlamini’s departure at the team as he was wearing the same jersey this season.
The South African is among other players who are reportedly leaving the ‘Birds’ nest after the capital side opted not to renew their contracts.

Present during the official unveiling of Manyisa were senior team officials, which included President Archbishop Bheki Lukhele’s representative Peter Bhiya, General Manager Sandile Zwane, Logistics Manager Khaya Vilakati, Manager Sandile Dlamini, Legal Advisor Welile Mabuza and Executive Member George Khumalo.

In his remarks, Bhiya welcomed the player to the team on behalf of the president and the entire Swallows family.
“I was sent to officially welcome and unveil the player. We would like to thank management for the wonderful work that has been done,” Bhiya said.
He added that things were handled professionally at Swallows as the marketing and communications manager had earlier highlighted.
